An alarm is said to be alertable if it is sent to either the AIX error log or a network monitoring station. (Alarms are sent to the AIX error log if you set the Alarms - Send to AIX Error Log parameter to Yes, or to a network monitoring station if you have Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) configured on your system.)
By default, the only alertable alarms are:
For information about the system parameter, refer to the Configuring the System information, and for information about SNMP, see Using SNMP to manage Blueworx Voice Response.
The alarm definition indicates whether the alarm is alertable or not. You can use the DTalarm command to display the alarm definition. For example:
DTalarm -t 17053
You can make any other alarm alertable by using the DTalarm command to change its definition (see DTalarm command).
In addition, you can make all alarms alertable by setting the Alarms - Make All Alertable parameter to Yes (refer to the Blueworx Voice Response for AIX: Configuring the System information for details).
