Starting a custom server

Use this procedure to start a custom server manually. To ensure that a server starts automatically when you restart Blueworx Voice Response, use the procedure in Starting a custom server automatically.

Starting a server manually has no effect on whether the server starts automatically the next time the system starts. This procedure only affects the current runtime status of the server.

At the Welcome window, select Operations —> Custom Server Manager
Locate the custom server you want to start.
Click NONE under the Run Status.
Click Start.
The Run Status changes to WAITING. Blueworx Voice Response fills in a process ID.

Note: If you are using a single system image system this starts the custom server on this node only.
Starting more servers : To start additional custom servers, repeat Steps 2 through 4.

Although the Custom Server Manager window is still displayed, the server is now loaded into memory and ready to run. If an application starts using the server while you are watching, the Run Status changes to ACTIVE.

Starting a custom server from the command line

You can start a custom server without using the Custom Server Manager window. To do this you need to be logged on as dtuser:

First ensure you are in the correct directory, by typing
```
cd $CUR_DIR/ca/bin
```
or add this path to your $PATH environment variable
Type the name of the required custom server (which must be already installed on the computer), followed by any runtime parameters that the custom server requires (usually none).
