All signaling processes normally provide call information such as calling number or dialed number. In addition, some signaling processes, typically those that implement common channel signaling protocols such as Signaling System Number 7, perform outbound signaling based on primitives they receive from channel processes.
This section describes the signaling interface aspects of the signaling process. You also need whatever documentation is supplied with the exchange data link or common channel signaling protocol you are implementing.
For examples of coding for various situations to be handled by signaling processes, see Example signaling flows.
