Blueworx Voice Response includes a simple ISDN line monitor application, with which you can monitor ISDN lines on both E1 and T1 systems. The line monitor allows you to see the signaling messages being sent between the network and Blueworx Voice Response.
To start the ISDN line monitor, wait until Blueworx Voice Response is running and the trunk you want to monitor is enabled. Then type the following command on the AIX command line:
ISDN_MONITOR trunk_number
where trunk_number is a single digit. For more detail on the ISDN_Monitor see the Problem Determination information.
It is recommended that you only monitor one trunk at a time, because the ISDN line monitor can adversely affect system performance.
The ISDN line monitor display shows both Layer-2 frames (prefixed by Q.921) and Layer-3 messages (prefixed by Q.931). The Layer-3 messages are used to set up and clear calls over the network. The Layer-2 frames show whether the link from Blueworx Voice Response to the network is active.
