VoIP configuration - why this way ?

Due to Blueworx Voice Response's evolution first thru CAS telephony protocols then CCS telephony protocols, such as ISDN and SS7, its configuration has always been physical trunk/pack based.

When VoIP using SIP support was added to Blueworx Voice Response this configuration mechanism was retained and VoIP is configured and managed in "trunks" also known as "packs", each of 30 channels. Also when VoIP using SIP was added to Blueworx Voice Response, in line with the CAS and CCS protocols which used physical adapters known as DTXA and DTTA and an earlier non-SIP version of VoIP support that used a DTEA adapter, it was assigned its own adapter type DTNA with the NA referring to "no adapter".
