Configuring Blueworx Voice Response to provide fax support

To facilitate fax support, Blueworx Voice Response provides a state table interface to a custom server, which uses a Brooktrout fax card. All these components, which make up the fax system, reside on the same physical pSeries computer. The powerful application programming features of Blueworx Voice Response and AIX enable you to implement a wide range of fax applications on Blueworx Voice Response.

Blueworx Voice Response provides an open system approach to fax support, making it easy to implement any fax application. To help you in the design and implementation of your fax applications, there is a sample fax application that implements a simple yet powerful personal fax filing system. Full sample source and documentation are supplied (see The Fax Sample Application (FSA)).

Since Blueworx Voice Response and the fax server application must both be run in the same pSeries computer, you will have a configuration similar to the following:

This figure shows a configuration for fax support, but with the optional addition of local information, including stored faxes, available both on the pSeries and on a separate LAN.
