You can edit both the description and the graphical
representation of the voice segments that you create. Note that the
minimum segment size for editing is 20 milliseconds. Use this procedure
to edit voice segments in a selected voice directory.
- To edit a voice segment: From the Welcome window, click
on Applications —> Voice Segments.
- Select voice segment to be edited: Select the language
and voice directory that contain the voice segments you want to edit.
- Open the segment you want
to edit.
The system displays the Voice Segment window, showing the selected
segment.
- Scaling: To change the size of the segment's graphical
representation, click View to Zoom
In, Zoom Out, Scale
x2, or Scale x1/2.
- Selecting all or part of the segment: To select all or
a portion of the segment:
- Drag the mouse over the portion
- Or, click Edit —> Select All to select
the entire segment.
- To deselect the segment, click Edit —> Deselect
All.
- To delete part of the segment, drag the mouse over the portion
you want to delete. Then, click Edit —> Delete.
- Copying: To cut or copy part of another segment, Open the
other (source) segment. Mark the information from the source segment
by dragging the mouse over it. Click Edit to Cut or Copy,
and Paste the information to a selected
position in the destination segment.
If you combine voice segments of a differing data format or sampling
rate, Blueworx Voice Response displays
a message to notify you that the formats differ and cancels the operation.
Refer to Steps 10 and 11 for instructions about respecifying
and converting the format of voice segments.
If you combine voice segments of differing compression, Blueworx Voice Response automatically
converts the resulting segment to compressed format. If you want the
segment to be uncompressed, you can specify this requirement when
you save the segment.
- To cut or copy part of the same segment, drag the mouse over the
information. Click Edit to Cut or Copy,
and Paste the information to a selected
position.
- Respecifying the format: If you want to respecify
the format for the imported audio data, use the Format Control window
to modify the format settings, then select Display.
Note: The Format Control window defines only how Blueworx Voice Response interprets
the audio data; the physical format of the data itself is unchanged.
The voice segment representation changes accordingly.
- Converting the format : If you want to convert
the actual format of the data, use the Format Control window to respecify
format attributes, then click Convert.
- Saving: To change any information you specified when you
defined the segment (or to copy the current segment to a new segment),
click Save As to change the voice directory,
language, segment ID, or compression information for the voice segment.
- When you have finished editing, Save the
modified segment.
- Close the Voice Segment window.
- More? Repeat this procedure, starting with Step 3, for the next voice segment you want
to edit.
