The concept of nodes in a network is a very important one because Java and VoiceXML support is designed to be distributed.
There are two types of node: voice response nodes and application nodes.
On AIX, a Blueworx Voice Response system with the Java and VoiceXML environment installed on it can support one, and only one, voice response node and multiple application nodes.
For information about installing application nodes on hosts that don't have a Blueworx Voice Response system, see Setting up an application node.
