Using the Statements menu

Statements are added or inserted following the statement where the cursor is positioned.

Create a New script (or Open an existing script), then select the action from the Statements menu that corresponds to the statement you require:

• Click Parameters to specify input and output parameters with the INPUT and OUTPUT statements.
• Click Screen to specify the following screen handling statements:
  • CHECK_SCREEN checks whether the specified 3270 screen matches the current 3270 screen. This statement can be used alone or as a conditional test in an IF or WHILE statement.
  • SAVE_SCREEN stores the current 3270 screen.
  • GET_FIELD retrieves the contents of a defined field and stores the value in the specified variable.
  • PUT_FIELD places a value into a defined field.
  • SEND_KEY simulates keyboard input to the current 3270 screen at the current cursor position.
  • SET_CURSOR is used to set the cursor position on the screen.
• Click Assignment to assign a value to a variable.
• Click Conditional to perform actions depending on whether or not the specified condition exists. You can specify the following condition types:
  • IF condition THEN
  • ELSEIF condition THEN
  • WHILE condition DO
  • ELSE

  A condition can be a comparison between two values or one of the following statements:

  • CHECK_ATTRIBUTE checks whether the specified attribute (hidden, highlighted, normal, numeric, or protected) applies to a selected field.
  • CHECK_SCREEN checks whether the specified 3270 screen matches the current 3270 screen.
  • EXISTS checks for the existence of the specified field on the current 3270 screen.
• Click Case to test multiple conditions of the same variable using the CASE statement.
• Click Call Script to invoke a script from within a script using the CALL statement.
• Click Comment to include comments in your script.
• Click Log_Error to write data to the error log.
• Click Sleep to define a pause for a specified number of seconds between statements using the SLEEP statement.
• Click Exception to override the default exception handler or install a new one using the EXCEPTION statement.
• Click Disable Session to override the disable the 3270 session.
• Click Return to return control to the calling state table using the RETURN, EXCEPTION RETURN, or ABORT statements.
