An ADSI telephone has two 40-character buffers that are called call reference buffers. In these buffers, information about outgoing and incoming calls can be stored. The information that is stored is determined by the particular telephone, but for outgoing calls it is likely to contain the dialed number, and for incoming calls it might contain the number and name of the caller.
ADSI actions enable the contents of the call reference buffer to be displayed or to be used as parameter data.
