Importing prompts

Use the following procedure to import prompts in ASCII format from a file in the AIX file system into a selected prompt directory. For more information see Importing and exporting prompts above.

To import prompts in ASCII format:

  1. From the Welcome window, click on Applications —> Prompts.
  2. Import the prompt: Select the prompt directory into which you want to import the prompt.
  3. Click Prompt —> New. The system displays the Prompt window, showing the selected prompt directory and default values.
  4. Click Utilities —> Import. The system displays the Import File window.
  5. Type the file name that identifies the file from which to import the prompt in the Selection field, or use the file search display to find the file and select the file name. File search display is described in the Blueworx Voice Response for AIX: Designing and Managing State Table Applications information.
  6. Click OK. The imported prompt is copied into the Prompt window.
  7. Validate the prompt: Click the File menu to Validate the prompt.

If the prompt syntax is valid, the Validated field displays Yes. An application that includes this prompt will not execute unless this field displays Yes.

If all references to voice tables, voice directories, and prompts are valid, the Linked field displays Yes. An application that includes this prompt will execute whether or not this field displays Yes.

  8. Save the prompt: After you have corrected any errors, Save the new prompt.

The system displays the Prompt Information window.

    1. Creating a new default prompt: Click New Default Prompt.
    2. Select the required directory.
    3. Type a name for the prompt in the Prompt Name field.
    4. Click OK.
    1. Creating a new language-specific prompt: Click New Language Specific Prompt.
    2. Select the required language.
    3. You can also reselect the directory or prompt to create this language-specific version for default prompts in other directories. This copies the language-specific prompt you have defined into the selected directories, associated with the selected default prompts. Note that the inputs to the language-specific and default versions of a prompt, if any, must match exactly in number and type.
    4. Click OK.

The Prompt window title shows the prompt directory and name. The Language field shows the selected language.

  9. Close the Prompt window.
  10. More?: Repeat this procedure, starting with Step 3, for each prompt that you want to import.
