Managing Blueworx Voice Response data

The two critical Blueworx Voice Response resources are data and disk space. Blueworx Voice Response needs up-to-date, correct data to operate. Blueworx Voice Response also needs disk space to store the data and to use as work space. The hard disk in the Power System is therefore extremely important. If the disk is damaged or is nearly full, the system cannot operate correctly.

Managing data means:

Blueworx Voice Response relies on several different types of data. Some of the data is the software itself, such as AIX, Communication Server, and Blueworx Voice Response. Other data includes voice application objects, operational statistics, and error information.

While all this data is equally important, it does not all require management. The software is static and will always take up exactly as much disk space as when you installed it. The other data, on the other hand, is dynamic. The more you use the system, the more data you create, the more disk space you need, and the more important it becomes that this data is properly managed.

When Blueworx Voice Response is installed, it includes file systems for storing this data. These file systems are located in /usr and /home.
