Language-only locales

In some cases, you may want to use a language-only locale identifier, such as “en” or “fr”. One example of this is the use of “en” as a locale identifier for the voice segments supplied for the tutorial application in Developing Java applications. These voice segments can be used when the current language of an application is any derivative of the en locale: en_US, en_GB, en_AU, and so on. Whenever a voice segment for a specific country or region cannot be found, a voice segment for the generic language is searched for.
