Adding a Telephony URL Locale

A Telephony URL Locale is a definition of a location within a telephony network. In simple terms it is a definition of the digits that need to be dialed in order to reach a Voice Response node.

The Locale is specified by two properties. Firstly there is a "global" definition, which is the number that can be dialed from anywhere in world in order to reach a node. Secondly there is a "local" definition, which is the number that can be dialed in order to reach a node from within a sub-area of the telephony network.

A Telephony URL Locale is required for the evaluation of Telephony URLs such as may be used by VoiceXML Version 2.1 and CCXML.

To add a Telephony URL Locale, create a TelURLLocale entry in your configuration file (see TelURLLocale configuration entry), and add the name of the TelURLLocale to the NodeName configuration entry.
