Planning a single system image

When you plan your single system image, think about: AIX login account, telephony network, configuring the nodes, 3270 sessions, and AIX locale definitions.

When you plan your single system image, think about the following:

AIX login account
The Blueworx Voice Response AIX login user ID (usually named dtuser) must be defined identically on all nodes in a single system image. The user ID must have the same name on every system, and the same numeric identifiers.

When you install Blueworx Voice Response on a stand-alone system, you can let Blueworx Voice Response create the dtuser account automatically. However, when you are setting up a single system image, before you install Blueworx Voice Response you must create the account yourself on each system that will make up the single system image. You must ensure that the account is created exactly the same on every system. For information on how to create the account yourself, refer to the Blueworx Voice Response for AIX: Installation information.

Telephony network
All the client nodes in an single system image must connect to an E1 network, or they must all connect to a T1 network. This is because uncompressed voice data recorded on an E1 client does not play correctly on a T1 client (similarly, voice data recorded on a T1client does not play correctly on an E1 client).
Configuring the nodes
When you have installed Blueworx Voice Response on each system that makes up your single system image, you are ready to configure each node. None of the configuration data is shared between the nodes: you must configure each node separately.

For information on how to configure your Blueworx Voice Response systems to create a single system image, refer to the Blueworx Voice Response for AIX: Configuring the System information.

3270 sessions
If you plan to use 3270 sessions in your single system image, you must configure the 3270 sessions on all client nodes that have 3270 installed.
AIX locale definitions
All nodes in a single system image must be configured with the same AIX locale definitions.
