Trace information is a method of writing diagnostic information direct to disk file. By default this function is disabled as it affects the performance of the custom server when it is under load. The purpose of this trace facility is to capture detailed information about messages and their parameters. This is useful when first connecting to a new network or variant.
The ss7view –trace option controls whether this facility is enabled and what elements are traced (see ss7view -trace for details) .
