The first stage is to identify the machines within the SS7 Cluster. Complete
the "AIX machines" table in
Sample forms for recording information as follows:
- Machine name
- The value that is returned by the machine when executing the AIX command
hostname –s.
- Primary IP
- The name given to the Primary IP address of this machine. Typically
this would be the same as Machine Name. Note that this name cannot exceed
15 characters in length.
- Secondary IP
- This is optional and is the name given to the Secondary IP address of
the machine. This is required if running with a Dual LAN configuration.
- Machine type
- Either SS7 Server or Blueworx Voice Response client
- Serial number
- The value returned by the machine when executing the AIX command uname –m. This information is required when requesting licences
for these machines.
