Changing the AIX password on an SSI database server

When you configure a cluster of Blueworx Voice Response systems as a single system image (SSI), you have to specify the AIX login user ID and password of the system you configure as the database server. Therefore if you change this password, the Blueworx Voice Response clients will no longer be able to communicate with the server. For this reason, you must follow this procedure to change the password:

  1. Remove every client from the single system image, using the ssirmclient command. For more information, see the Blueworx Voice Response for AIX: Configuring the System information.
  2. Change the login password on the server.
  3. Use the vae.setuser utility to ensure that the file permissions and ownerships are correct. Type the following command and press Enter, then follow the prompts:
    /usr/lpp/dirTalk/tools/vae.setuser
  4. Reconfigure each system that was a client, using the ssimkclient command. For more information, see the Blueworx Voice Response for AIX: Configuring the System information.
