Coexistence of signaling protocols

A single Blueworx Voice Response system supports either T1 or E1 trunks, but not both. All the channels do not have to share the same T1 or E1 protocol. For example, a trunk can be defined as T1. Some of the channels can be defined to use the E&M trunk protocol and some can be defined to use FXS. Some of the channels that use FXS can be defined to support loop start signaling, while others can be defined to support ground start signaling.

Common channel signaling can coexist with channel associated signaling. That is, some trunks can use common channel signaling while others use a channel associated signaling protocol. You cannot mix channel associated and common channel protocols within a single trunk.
