Editing 3270 server scripts and definitions

Use this procedure to edit your 3270 server scripts or to modify the definitions of the screens used by your 3270 server.

  1. From the Welcome window, click on Applications —> 3270 Servers
  2. Open the server: Open the server to be modified. The system displays the 3270 Server window.
  3. Modify information displayed in the window as required.
  4. Save the modified definition.
  5. Changing your script: To modify a script, Open the script from the 3270 Servers window. The system displays the 3270 Server window, showing the selected script. Change your script using the standard text editing functions described in the Blueworx Voice Response for AIX: User Interface Guide information.
  6. Validate and save the script: When you have finished editing, click File —> Validate. If the script syntax is valid, the Validated field displays Yes. An application that includes this script will not execute unless this field displays Yes.
  7. After you have corrected any errors, Save the modified script.
  8. Changing screen definitions: To modify the definitions for a screen, Open the screen from the 3270 Servers window. In the 3270 Screen window, click Options —> Modify Screen Info to display the current definition of the selected screen for modification.
  9. Changing field definitions: To modify the definitions for a field, Open the associated screen. In the 3270 Screen window, click Fields —> Modify to display the current definition of the selected field for modification.
  10. Close the 3270 Screen window.
  11. The updated server is now ready for use.
