Developing a 3270 server

This section explains what you need to do to develop a 3270 server.

Your Blueworx Voice Response applications can use 3270 servers to access data stored on a 3270 host computer.

You can copy existing 3270 servers and modify them as required, or you can create new 3270 servers. To copy an existing 3270 server, you can either:

• Use the Copy action on the Server menu, or
• Open an existing 3270 server and click Save As to copy the existing server under a new name

You can also copy the components (scripts and screens) of a selected server.

To create a new 3270 server (or to modify an existing 3270 server), you must be familiar with programming logic and with the script language statements described in 3270 script language statements. It is also very helpful if you understand how a 3270 server interacts with host applications and voice applications.
